The Collision of the Asteroids

In the history of Earth, many asteroids (any of numerous small celestial bodies composed of rock and metal that move around the sun, mainly between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter) have actually collided with our planet earth. In fact, it is common. Every day, over 100 small space rocks the size of grapefruits or basketballs are captured by Earth’s gravity. If they are so captured, we call them meteoroids (any of the small solid extraterrestrial bodies that hits the earth's atmosphere).

NASA, ESA and Other Space Agencies from many countries are now watching the skies to make sure that we are not taken by surprise if another large asteroid heads our way. The project is called the NEO Near Earth Objects Program.

Most of meteoroids burn up and melt from friction as they enter and pass through Earth’s protective atmosphere. If they actually enter Earth’s atmosphere, we call them shooting stars or meteors.

What Quran says about the safe sky…?

Quran: 21: 32-33

سُوۡرَةُ الاٴنبیَاء
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
وَجَعَلۡنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ سَقۡفً۬ا مَّحۡفُوظً۬ا‌ۖ وَهُمۡ عَنۡ ءَايَـٰتِہَا مُعۡرِضُونَ (٣٢)

Al-Anbiya 21:32-33
And we have made the sky a roof withheld (from them). Yet they turn away from its portents. (32)

اور آسمان کو محفوظ چھت بنایا۔ اس پر بھی وہ ہماری نشانیوں سے منہ پھیر رہے ہیں (۳۲)

سُوۡرَةُ المُلک
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

ءَأَمِنتُم مَّن فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ أَن يَخۡسِفَ بِكُمُ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ فَإِذَا هِىَ تَمُورُ (١٦) أَمۡ أَمِنتُم مَّن فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ أَن يُرۡسِلَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ حَاصِبً۬ا‌ۖ فَسَتَعۡلَمُونَ كَيۡفَ نَذِيرِ (١٧)

Al-Mulk 67:16-17
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Have ye taken security from Him Who is in the heaven that He will not cause the earth to swallow you when lo! it is convulsed? (16) Or have ye taken security from Him Who is in the heaven that He will not let loose on you a hurricane? But ye shall know the manner of My warning. (17)

کیا تم اس سے جو آسمان میں ہے بےخوف ہو کہ تم کو زمین میں دھنسا دے اور وہ اس وقت حرکت کرنے لگے (۱۶) کیا تم اس سے جو آسمان میں ہے نڈر ہو کہ تم پر کنکر بھری ہوا چھوڑ دے۔ سو تم عنقریب جان لو گے کہ میرا ڈرانا کیسا ہے (۱۷)

Asteroid-Belt
Yet here, in this hostile, lonely, freezing place, a huge population of Solar System objects exists. They number in the billions and are very old. They are the Asteroids, space rocks that formed from the same nebula materials that created the Earth and Sun and all of the planets. In Quran it is mentioned many time that men and stones will be fuel in hell…prepared for disbelievers.

The space rocks come in all sizes. They are made mostly of solid rock, with a coating of dust. Some are dark in color, others much lighter. Most have craters from other impacts. Because they are still close enough to the sun’s heat to evaporate water, and because their gravity is usually too low to hold onto much liquid or gas, most asteroids have little frozen ice on their surfaces. However, some of the bigger asteroids with significant gravity do have ice in quantity.

Asteroids exist in the Asteroid Belt, The region of interplanetary space between Mars and Jupiter where most asteroids are found.

In Asteroid Belt billions of space rocks large and small orbit our Sun here. Some are hundreds of miles in diameter. Some are the size of large cities or big mountains. Most, however, are small, ranging from the size of buildings and cars to soccer balls and marbles.

They formed here at the birth of our Solar System 4.6 billion years ago. Over time, they might have come together by gravity to form another planet except … scientists believe that the presence of Jupiter’s gravity prevented a planet from forming. The Belt is quite thin.

Let’s examine one of the Solar System’s larger asteroids:

A funny-shaped asteroid named Gaspra is a large beige colored space rock about 9 km (5½ miles) wide.

Gaspra is a common asteroid. The Asteroid Belt is full of similar rocks, all moving at high speeds through the vast emptiness of space. However, it is not the biggest asteroid. Until recently, the biggest “asteroid” was named “Ceres”. At 900 km (580 miles) in diameter, it is spherical and orbits the sun here in the Asteroid Belt. Under the new “Dwarf Planet” definition, however, Ceres is now a Dwarf Planet”.

Another large asteroid is Vesta (560 km). Recently, even bigger objects have been discovered far beyond the orbit of Pluto. They also meet the new definition of dwarf planets.

Ceres may now be a “Dwarf Planet”, but it is essentially a big rock, pockmarked with thousands of holes called “Craters”, these craters are caused by other asteroids and space rocks slamming into Ceres at high speed over billions of years and leaving dents in the surface. Ceres is moving fast as its orbits the Sun. It is traveling over 11 miles/sec (18 km/s).

سُوۡرَةُ القَمَر
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

ٱقۡتَرَبَتِ ٱلسَّاعَةُ وَٱنشَقَّ ٱلۡقَمَرُ (١) وَإِن يَرَوۡاْ ءَايَةً۬ يُعۡرِضُواْ وَيَقُولُواْ سِحۡرٌ۬ مُّسۡتَمِرٌّ۬ (٢)

وَڪَذَّبُواْ وَٱتَّبَعُوٓاْ أَهۡوَآءَهُمۡ‌ۚ وَڪُلُّ أَمۡرٍ۬ مُّسۡتَقِرٌّ۬ (٣) وَلَقَدۡ جَآءَهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡأَنۢبَآءِ مَا فِيهِ مُزۡدَجَرٌ (٤)

[054:001-004] The Hour (of Judgment) is nigh, and the moon is cleft asunder.
But if they see a Sign, they turn away, and say, "This is (but) transient magic."
They reject (the warning) and follow their (own) lusts but every matter has its appointed time.
There have already come to them Recitals wherein there is (enough) to check (them),
قیامت قریب آ پہنچی اور چاند شق ہوگیا (۱) اور اگر (کافر) کوئی نشانی دیکھتے ہیں تو منہ پھیر لیتے ہیں اور کہتے ہیں کہ یہ ایک ہمیشہ کا جادو ہے (۲) اور انہوں نے جھٹلایا اور اپنی خواہشوں کی پیروی کی اور ہر کام کا وقت مقرر ہے (۳) اور ان کو ایسے حالات (سابقین) پہنچ چکے ہیں جن میں عبرت ہے (۴)

Occasionally, big asteroids collide with each other in space. When that happens, they can break into smaller pieces, or they can be knocked off their former course and head in a new direction. Both possibilities occur in space. Once in a great while, an asteroid finds itself knocked into a new orbital path headed toward the Sun and planets of the inner Solar System, including Earth.

Let’s visit another asteroid. It is an unusual one called Ida.

What a strange potato-shaped space rock Ida is. It is actually very big. It is 58 km long (about 36 miles) and 24 km (15 miles) wide. If it ever collided with Earth, it would extinguish all life on the planet.

Ida is an asteroid that has its own small moon orbiting it. In fact, over 60 asteroids having small moons have been located by Earth-based telescopes.

سُوۡرَةُ الاٴنبیَاء
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
وَجَعَلۡنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ سَقۡفً۬ا مَّحۡفُوظً۬ا‌ۖ وَهُمۡ عَنۡ ءَايَـٰتِہَا مُعۡرِضُونَ (٣٢) وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلَّيۡلَ وَٱلنَّہَارَ وَٱلشَّمۡسَ وَٱلۡقَمَرَ‌ۖ كُلٌّ۬ فِى فَلَكٍ۬ يَسۡبَحُونَ (٣٣)

Al-Anbiya 21:32-33

And He it is Who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. They float, each in an orbit. (33)

اور آسمان کو محفوظ چھت بنایا۔ اس پر بھی وہ ہماری نشانیوں سے منہ پھیر رہے ہیں (۳۲)اور وہی تو ہے جس نے رات اور دن اور سورج اور چاند کو بنایا۔ (یہ) سب (یعنی سورج اور چاند اور ستارے) آسمان میں (اس طرح چلتے ہیں گویا) تیر رہے ہیں (۳۳)

5-10 bigger asteroid rocks, however, don’t completely melt and are able to reach the ground every day. If they do hit the ground, we call them meteorites. When they hit, they can leave holes or craters in the ground. Most meteorites go unnoticed, but one or two each year crash inside populated areas. They even hit houses and cars. No human has ever been killed by one that we know of, but several years ago, a dog was hit and killed by a meteorite, and a woman had one crash through her house roof and land in her lap (it bruised her legs badly, but she survived).

In 1983, a piece of an asteroid slammed into the trunk of a car parked in a driveway in New Jersey, and in 2003, a meteorite crashed through the roof of a home in Texas and came to rest in the downstairs family room.

Every few million years, a “BIG” asteroid the size of a mountain falls to Earth like a giant cannon ball. When it hits, the damage can be horrible. The last such impact occurred about 100 years ago.

In 1908, an asteroid or comet impacted an isolated area of Siberia (part of Russia). No one was living there at the time, but the impact destroyed thousands of square miles of forest, and killed thousands of animals and birds. Find more at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tunguska_event

Quran warn about these incidents many times…

سُوۡرَةُ سَبَإ
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

أَفَلَمۡ يَرَوۡاْ إِلَىٰ مَا بَيۡنَ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ وَمَا خَلۡفَهُم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ إِن نَّشَأۡ نَخۡسِفۡ بِهِمُ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ أَوۡ نُسۡقِطۡ عَلَيۡہِمۡ كِسَفً۬ا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٲلِكَ لَأَيَةً۬ لِّكُلِّ عَبۡدٍ۬ مُّنِيبٍ۬ (٩)

Saba 34:9
Have they not observed what is before them and what is behind them of the sky and the earth? If We will, We can make the earth swallow them, or cause obliteration from the sky to fall on them. Lo! herein surely is a portent for every slave who turneth (to Allah) repentant. (9)

کیا انہوں نے اس کو نہیں دیکھا جو ان کے آگے اور پیچھے ہے یعنی آسمان اور زمین۔ اگر ہم چاہیں تو ان کو زمین میں دھنسا دیں یا ان پر آسمان کے ٹکڑے گرا دیں۔ اس میں ہر بندے کے لئے جو رجوع کرنےوالا ہے ایک نشانی ہے (۹)

سُوۡرَةُ النَّمل
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

وَتَرَى ٱلۡجِبَالَ تَحۡسَبُہَا جَامِدَةً۬ وَهِىَ تَمُرُّ مَرَّ ٱلسَّحَابِ‌ۚ صُنۡعَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَتۡقَنَ كُلَّ شَىۡءٍ‌ۚ إِنَّهُ ۥ خَبِيرُۢ بِمَا تَفۡعَلُونَ (٨٨)

Al-Naml 27:88
And thou seest the hills thou deemest solid flying with the flight of clouds: the doing of Allah Who perfecteth all things. Lo! He is Informed of what ye do. (88)

اور تم پہاڑوں کو دیکھتے ہو تو خیال کرتے ہو کہ (اپنی جگہ پر) کھڑے ہیں مگر وہ (اس روز) اس طرح اُڑے پھریں گے جیسے بادل۔ (یہ) خدا کی کاریگری ہے جس نے ہر چیز کو مضبوط بنایا۔ بےشک وہ تمہارے سب افعال سے باخبر ہے (۸۸)

سُوۡرَةُ الشّوریٰ
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

تَكَادُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتُ يَتَفَطَّرۡنَ مِن فَوۡقِهِنَّ‌ۚ وَٱلۡمَلَـٰٓٮِٕكَةُ يُسَبِّحُونَ بِحَمۡدِ رَبِّہِمۡ وَيَسۡتَغۡفِرُونَ لِمَن فِى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ‌ۗ أَلَآ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ (٥)

Ash-Shura 42:5
Almost might the heavens above be rent asunder while the angels hymn the praise of their Lord and ask forgiveness for those on the earth. Lo! Allah, He is the Forgiver, the Merciful. (5)

قریب ہے کہ آسمان اوپر سے پھٹ پڑیں اور فرشتے اپنے پروردگار کی تعریف کے ساتھ اس کی تسبیج کرتے رہتے ہیں اور جو لوگ زمین میں ہیں ان کے لئے معافی مانگتے رہتے ہیں۔ سن رکھو کہ خدا بخشنے والا مہربان ہے

The collision of asteroids may occur in near future. In the history of Earth many asteroids have actually collided with our world.

Extinction Level Event (ELE)

65 million years ago, an unnamed asteroid about the size of Gaspra (10 km) hit Earth in the Gulf of Mexico off the Yucatan Peninsula. It left a giant hole (crater) in the ground over 200 km (125 mi) wide and 12 km (8 miles) deep. At that time, there were no people. It was the age of the dinosaurs and giant reptiles ruled the land and the seas. The impact was so terrible that life on Earth changed forever. First, a giant tidal wave (a tsunami), was thrown up to a height of 300 meters (1000 ft), and raced in all directions for thousands of miles, drowning everything in its path. That was nothing, however, compared to what happened next…

The blast was so powerful that the crust of the Earth cracked and lava poured out underwater. Enormous amounts of melted rock, dust, steam and gases were thrown high into the air and spread by winds. These hot fragments fell back to Earth on forested areas and set them on fire. Within weeks, the skies over Earth darkened from ash, dust and smoke, and temperatures plunged as sunlight was blocked out. The rain became acidic from all the air pollution and the ozone layer that protects our planet from excessive UV radiation from the Sun was badly damaged, allowing harmful UV to reach the ground.

Within a few months, plant and animal life began to die from the darkness, cold, acid rain, radiation and lack of food. The dinosaurs never recovered and they all died out. It was the end of an era.

In fact, it is estimated that over 70% of all life on Earth (plant and animal) was snuffed out by this collision. It was a true extinction level event (ELE). Our official name for it is the Cretaceous-Tertiary Extinction.

This sort of incident and warnings are clearly mentioned in Quran at several verses…

سُوۡرَةُ الاٴنبیَاء
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

وَكَمۡ قَصَمۡنَا مِن قَرۡيَةٍ۬ كَانَتۡ ظَالِمَةً۬ وَأَنشَأۡنَا بَعۡدَهَا قَوۡمًا ءَاخَرِينَ (١١) فَلَمَّآ أَحَسُّواْ بَأۡسَنَآ إِذَا هُم مِّنۡہَا يَرۡكُضُونَ (١٢)

Al-Anbiya 21: 11-12
How many a community that dealt unjustly have We shattered, and raised up after them another folk! (11) And, when they felt Our might, behold them fleeing from it! (12)

اور ہم نے بہت سی بستیوں کو جو ستمگار تھیں ہلاک کر مارا اور ان کے بعد اور لوگ پیدا کردیئے (۱۱) جب انہوں نے ہمارے (مقدمہ) عذاب کو دیکھا تو لگے اس سے بھاگنے (۱۲)

An ancient collision between two mega-asteroids spawned the killer space rock that slammed into Earth and marked the beginning of the end for the dinosaurs, a new study claims.

. سُوۡرَةُ فَاطِر
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

إِن يَشَأۡ يُذۡهِبۡڪُمۡ وَيَأۡتِ بِخَلۡقٍ۬ جَدِيدٍ۬ (١٦) وَمَا ذَٲلِكَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ بِعَزِيزٍ۬ (١٧)

Fatir 35:16-17
If He will, He can be rid of you and bring (instead of you) some new creation. (16) That is not a hard thing for Allah. (17)

اگر چاہے تو تم کو نابود کردے اور نئی مخلوقات لا آباد کرے (۱۶) اور یہ خدا کو کچھ مشکل نہیں (۱۷)

What is fascinating to realize is that who can stop this ELE in future?

In February, 2000, a special camera aboard the Space Shuttle photographed what is left of that giant crater (called the Chicxulub Crater (what a name!). It is filled in now with millions of years of mud and sediment but is still just visible

Here's the location of one violent impact... This is Chicxulub.

§ About 65 million years ago, a 10-kilometer wide asteroid impacted here, and the results killed approximately 70% of the life on Earth!

§ The crater isn't really visible though. It's buried under one kilometer of sediment and sea water.

§ Speculation has it that this impact may have been at least partly responsible for the Gulf of Mexico!

§ The actual impact crater itself, however, is only about 180 kilometers in diameter.

· And scientists are certain that the Gulf of Mexico existed PRIOR to the impact.

سُوۡرَةُ المُلک
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَـٰذَا ٱلۡوَعۡدُ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَـٰدِقِينَ (٢٥) قُلۡ إِنَّمَا ٱلۡعِلۡمُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَإِنَّمَآ أَنَا۟ نَذِيرٌ۬ مُّبِينٌ۬ (٢٦) فَلَمَّا رَأَوۡهُ زُلۡفَةً۬ سِيٓـَٔتۡ وُجُوهُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَقِيلَ هَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَدَّعُونَ (٢٧) قُلۡ أَرَءَيۡتُمۡ إِنۡ أَهۡلَكَنِىَ ٱللَّهُ وَمَن مَّعِىَ أَوۡ رَحِمَنَا فَمَن يُجِيرُ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِينَ مِنۡ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ۬ (٢٨)

Al-Mulk 67:16-17, 25-28

And they say: When (will) this promise (be fulfilled), if ye are truthful? (25) Say: The knowledge is with Allah only, and I am but a plain warner; (26) But when they see it nigh, the faces of those who disbelieve will be awry, and it will be said (unto them): This is that for which ye used to call. (27) Say (O Muhammad): Have ye thought: Whether Allah causeth me (Muhammad) and those with me to perish or hath mercy on us, still, who will protect the disbelievers from a painful doom? (28)

کہہ دو اس کا علم خدا ہی کو ہے۔ اور میں تو کھول کھول کر ڈر سنانے والا ہوں (۲۶) سو جب وہ دیکھ لیں گے کہ وہ (وعدہ) قریب آگیا تو کافروں کے منہ برے ہوجائیں گے اور (ان سے) کہا جائے گا کہ یہ وہی ہے جس کے تم خواستگار تھے (۲۷) کہو کہ بھلا دیکھو تو اگر خدا مجھ کو اور میرے ساتھیوں کو ہلاک کردے یا ہم پر مہربانی کرے۔ تو کون ہے کافروں کو دکھ دینے والے عذاب سے پناہ دے؟ (۲۸)

Earth has experienced at least 6 major extinctions throughout the record of life on the planet. How many of them were caused by other meteorite impacts is unknown. However, it is clear that asteroid collisions with Earth occur on a regular basis, and another large one will head toward a collision course with Earth again someday. It could be millions of years from now, or it could be next month.

سُوۡرَةُ هُود
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

فَلَمَّا جَآءَ أَمۡرُنَا جَعَلۡنَا عَـٰلِيَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَأَمۡطَرۡنَا عَلَيۡهَا حِجَارَةً۬ مِّن سِجِّيلٍ۬ مَّنضُودٍ۬ (٨٢)

Hud 11:82
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

So when Our commandment came to pass We overthrew (that township) and rained upon it stones of clay, one after another, (82)

تو جب ہمارا حکم آیا ہم نے اس (بستی) کو (اُلٹ کر) نیچے اوپر کردیا اور ان پر پتھر کی تہہ بہ تہہ (یعنی پےدرپے) کنکریاں برسائیں (۸۲)

سُوۡرَةُ الاٴنبیَاء
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

وَنَصَرۡنَـٰهُ مِنَ ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآ‌ۚ إِنَّہُمۡ ڪَانُواْ قَوۡمَ سَوۡءٍ۬ فَأَغۡرَقۡنَـٰهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِينَ (٧٧)

Al-Anbiya 21:77
And delivered him from the people who denied Our revelations. Lo! they were folk of evil, therefor did We drown them all. (77)

اور جو لوگ ہماری آیتوں کی تکذیب کرتے تھے ان پر نصرت بخشی۔ وہ بےشک برے لوگ تھے سو ہم نے ان سب کو غرق کردیا (۷۷)

Let's view some of the Earth's Impact Craters.

Our planet has also been impacted by at least one COMET in the past.

This feature is almost the same size as the crater in the Gulf of Mexico. It was formed about 1.8 billion years ago.

Scientists know that a comet impacted here after analyzing impact-melt elements and running crater-simulation models.

سُوۡرَةُ الاٴنبیَاء
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

وَكَمۡ قَصَمۡنَا مِن قَرۡيَةٍ۬ كَانَتۡ ظَالِمَةً۬ وَأَنشَأۡنَا بَعۡدَهَا قَوۡمًا ءَاخَرِينَ (١١)

سُوۡرَةُ القَمَر
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

كَذَّبَتۡ عَادٌ۬ فَكَيۡفَ كَانَ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ (١٨) إِنَّآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَيۡہِمۡ رِيحً۬ا صَرۡصَرً۬ا فِى يَوۡمِ نَحۡسٍ۬ مُّسۡتَمِرٍّ۬ (١٩) تَنزِعُ ٱلنَّاسَ كَأَنَّہُمۡ أَعۡجَازُ نَخۡلٍ۬ مُّنقَعِرٍ۬ (٢٠) فَكَيۡفَ كَانَ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ (٢١) وَلَقَدۡ يَسَّرۡنَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ لِلذِّكۡرِ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ۬ (٢٢)

Al-Qamar 54:18-22
(The tribe of) A'ad rejected warnings. Then how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings. (18) Lo! We let loose on them a raging wind on a day of constant calamity, (19) Sweeping men away as though they were uprooted trunks of palm-trees. (20) Then see how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings! (21) And in truth We have made the Qur'an easy to remember; but is there any that remembereth? (22)

عاد نے بھی تکذیب کی تھی سو (دیکھ لو کہ) میرا عذاب اور ڈرانا کیسا ہوا (۱۸) ہم نے ان پر سخت منحوس دن میں آندھی چلائی (۱۹) وہ لوگوں کو (اس طرح) اکھیڑے ڈالتی تھی گویا اکھڑی ہوئی کھجوروں کے تنے ہیں (۲۰) سو (دیکھ لو کہ) میرا عذاب اور ڈرانا کیسا ہوا (۲۱)

Examine some of the Earth's surface movements.

As mentioned previously, the Earth's surface is also always in motion. We can see proof of this if we take a look around. One simple example of our planet's dynamic surface activity/movement can be seen here.

§ Note the similarities between the east coast of Africa and the west coast of Madagascar.

§ At some time in the past, Madagascar was firmly attached to the continent of Africa!

§ Let's look at a more dramatic example...

§ Compare the eastern coast of South America to the west coast of Africa!

§ There can be no doubt that the two continents were once connected to each other at some point in the distant past!

سُوۡرَةُ سَبَإ
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

وَجَعَلۡنَا بَيۡنَہُمۡ وَبَيۡنَ ٱلۡقُرَى ٱلَّتِى بَـٰرَڪۡنَا فِيہَا قُرً۬ى ظَـٰهِرَةً۬ وَقَدَّرۡنَا فِيہَا ٱلسَّيۡرَۖ سِيرُواْ فِيہَا لَيَالِىَ وَأَيَّامًا ءَامِنِينَ (١٨) فَقَالُواْ رَبَّنَا بَـٰعِدۡ بَيۡنَ أَسۡفَارِنَا وَظَلَمُوٓاْ أَنفُسَہُمۡ فَجَعَلۡنَـٰهُمۡ أَحَادِيثَ وَمَزَّقۡنَـٰهُمۡ كُلَّ مُمَزَّقٍۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٲلِكَ لَأَيَـٰتٍ۬ لِّكُلِّ صَبَّارٍ۬ شَكُورٍ۬ (١٩)

Saba 34:18-19
And We set, between them and the towns which We had blessed, towns easy to be seen, and We made the stage between them easy, (saying): Travel in them safely both by night and day. (18) But they said: Our Lord! Make the stage between our journeys longer. And they wronged themselves, therefore We made them bywords (in the land) and scattered them abroad, a total scattering. Lo! herein verily are portents for each steadfast, grateful (heart). (19)

اور ہم نے ان کے اور ان بستیوں کے درمیان جن میں ہم نے برکت دی تھی (ایک دوسرے کے متصل) دیہات بنائے تھے جو سامنے نظر آتے تھے اور ان میں آمد ورفت کا اندازہ مقرر کردیا تھا کہ رات دن بےخوف وخطر چلتے رہو (۱۸) تو انہوں نے دعا کی کہ اے پروردگار ہماری مسافتوں میں بُعد (اور طول پیدا) کردے اور (اس سے) انہوں نے اپنے حق میں ظلم کیا تو ہم نے (انہیں نابود کرکے) ان کے افسانے بنادیئے اور انہیں بالکل منتشر کردیا۔ اس میں ہر صابر وشاکر کے لئے نشانیاں ہیں (۱۹)

سُوۡرَةُ الحِجر
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

وَءَاتَيۡنَـٰهُمۡ ءَايَـٰتِنَا فَكَانُواْ عَنۡہَا مُعۡرِضِينَ (٨١) وَكَانُواْ يَنۡحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا ءَامِنِينَ (٨٢) فَأَخَذَتۡہُمُ ٱلصَّيۡحَةُ مُصۡبِحِينَ (٨٣) فَمَآ أَغۡنَىٰ عَنۡہُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَكۡسِبُونَ (٨٤)

Al-Hijr 15: 81-84
And we gave them Our revelations, but they were averse to them. (81) And they used to hew out dwellings from the hills, (wherein they dwelt) secure. (82) But the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the morning hour, (83) And that which they were wont to count as gain availed them not. (84)

ہم نے ان کو اپنی نشانیاں دیں اور وہ ان سے منہ پھرتے رہے (۸۱) اور وہ پہاڑوں کو تراش تراش کر گھر بناتے تھے (کہ) امن (واطمینان) سے رہیں گے (۸۲) تو چیخ نے ان کو صبح ہوتے ہوتے آپکڑا (۸۳) اور جو کام وہ کرتے تھے وہ ان کے کچھ بھی کام نہ آئے (۸۴)

§ It staggers the imagination when you understand that this ENTIRE area is basically nothing more than sand!

§ The Taklimakan Desert - also known as the 'Sea of the Dead' - is the SECOND largest desert on Planet Earth.

سُوۡرَةُ الحِجر
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

فَأَخَذَتۡہُمُ ٱلصَّيۡحَةُ مُصۡبِحِينَ (٨٣) فَمَآ أَغۡنَىٰ عَنۡہُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَكۡسِبُونَ (٨٤) وَمَا خَلَقۡنَا ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَمَا بَيۡنَہُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلۡحَقِّ‌ۗ وَإِنَّ ٱلسَّاعَةَ لَأَتِيَةٌ۬‌ۖ فَٱصۡفَحِ ٱلصَّفۡحَ ٱلۡجَمِيلَ (٨٥) إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ ٱلۡخَلَّـٰقُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ (٨٦)

Al-Hijr 15:83-86
But the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the morning hour, (83) And that which they were wont to count as gain availed them not. (84) We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them save with truth, and lo! the Hour is surely coming. So forgive, (O Muhammad), with a gracious forgiveness. (85) Lo! Thy Lord! He is the All-Wise Creator. (86)

سو ان کو سورج نکلتے نکلتے چنگھاڑ نے آپکڑا (۷۳) اور ہم نے اس شہر کو (الٹ کر) نیچے اوپر کردیا۔ اور ان پر کھنگر کی پتھریاں برسائیں (۷۴) بےشک اس (قصے) میں اہل فراست کے لیے نشانی ہے (۷۵) اور وہ (شہر) اب تک سیدھے رستے پر (موجود) ہے (۷۶)

· This is another awe-inspiring feature of Planet Earth. The Taklimakan is located in the western half of China.

To the south is another interesting area.

· Some of the largest and tallest mountains in the world can be found here in the Himalayas.

§ Here is THE tallest mountain on our home planet. This is Mount Everest.

§ Note that the Himalayas are STILL being created as India continues its slow movement northward - and into - Asia.

§ Each year the continent travels another half-inch or so on its continuing - and inexorable - journey northward.

§ It is hard to believe, but the combined impact of these movements has created the Himalayan Mountain range!

سُوۡرَةُ النَّمل
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Al-Naml 27:88
And thou seest the hills thou deemest solid flying with the flight of clouds: the doing of Allah Who perfecteth all things. Lo! He is Informed of what ye do. (88)

اور تم پہاڑوں کو دیکھتے ہو تو خیال کرتے ہو کہ (اپنی جگہ پر) کھڑے ہیں مگر وہ اس طرح اُڑے پھریں گے جیسے بادل۔ (یہ) خدا کی کاریگری ہے جس نے ہر چیز کو مضبوط بنایا۔ بےشک وہ تمہارے سب افعال سے باخبر ہے (۸۸)

سُوۡرَةُ الحَشر
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
سَبَّحَ لِلَّهِ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ‌ۖ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡحَكِيمُ (١) هُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَخۡرَجَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِنۡ أَهۡلِ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ مِن دِيَـٰرِهِمۡ لِأَوَّلِ ٱلۡحَشۡرِ‌ۚ مَا ظَنَنتُمۡ أَن يَخۡرُجُواْ‌ۖ وَظَنُّوٓاْ أَنَّهُم مَّانِعَتُهُمۡ حُصُونُہُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ فَأَتَٮٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مِنۡ حَيۡثُ لَمۡ يَحۡتَسِبُواْ‌ۖ وَقَذَفَ فِى قُلُوبِہِمُ ٱلرُّعۡبَ‌ۚ يُخۡرِبُونَ بُيُوتَہُم بِأَيۡدِيہِمۡ وَأَيۡدِى ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ فَٱعۡتَبِرُواْ يَـٰٓأُوْلِى ٱلۡأَبۡصَـٰرِ (٢) وَلَوۡلَآ أَن كَتَبَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡجَلَآءَ لَعَذَّبَہُمۡ فِى ٱلدُّنۡيَا‌ۖ وَلَهُمۡ فِى ٱلۡأَخِرَةِ عَذَابُ ٱلنَّارِ (٣) ذَٲلِكَ بِأَنَّہُمۡ شَآقُّواْ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ ۥ‌ۖ وَمَن يُشَآقِّ ٱللَّهَ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلۡعِقَابِ (٤)

Al-Hashr 59:1-4
All that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth glorifieth Allah, and He is the Mighty, the Wise. (1) He it is Who hath caused those of the People of the Scripture who disbelieved to go forth from their homes unto the first exile. Ye deemed not that they would go forth, while they deemed that their strongholds would protect them from Allah. But Allah reached them from a place whereof they racked not, and cast terror in their hearts so that they ruined their houses with their own hands and the hands of the believers. So learn a lesson, O ye who have eyes! (2) And if Allah had not decreed migration for them, He verily would have punished them in the world, and theirs in the Hereafter is this punishment of the Fire. (3) That is because they were opposed to Allah and His messenger; and whoso is opposed to Allah, (for him) verily Allah is stern in reprisal. (4)

جو چیزیں آسمانوں میں ہیں اور جو چیزیں زمین میں ہیں (سب) خدا کی تسبیح کرتی ہیں۔ اور وہ غالب حکمت والا ہے (۱) وہی تو ہے جس نے کفار اہل کتاب کو حشر اول کے وقت ان کے گھروں سے نکال دیا۔ تمہارے خیال میں بھی نہ تھا کہ وہ نکل جائیں گے اور وہ لوگ یہ سمجھے ہوئے تھے کہ ان کے قلعے ان کو خدا (کے عذاب) سے بچا لیں گے۔ مگر خدا نے ان کو وہاں سے آ لیا جہاں سے ان کو گمان بھی نہ تھا۔ اور ان کے دلوں میں دہشت ڈال دی کہ اپنے گھروں کو خود اپنے ہاتھوں اور مومنوں کے ہاتھوں سے اُجاڑنے لگے تو اے (بصیرت کی) آنکھیں رکھنے والو عبرت پکڑو (۲) اور اگر خدا نے ان کے بارے میں جلاوطن کرنا نہ لکھ رکھا ہوتا تو ان کو دنیا میں بھی عذاب دے دیتا۔ اور آخرت میں تو ان کے لئے آگ کا عذاب (تیار) ہے (۳) یہ اس لئے کہ انہوں نے خدا اور اس کے رسول کی مخالفت کی۔ اور جو شخص خدا کی مخالفت کرے تو خدا سخت عذاب دینے والا ہے (۴)

There are many civilizations /cities in world have been ruined by natural and man made disasters. Our history is full of such examples. Such as Egyptian Pyramids, Greek, Roman Harapa, Monjudaro, Gandhara, Taxila Civilizations etc. etc.

Pyramids of Egypt / Great Pyramid: A massive monument with a square base and four triangular sides; begun by Cheops around 2700 BC in ancient Egypt. Who built it and how? even with this modern time technology can not build the same. Where that civilization has disappeared?

سُوۡرَةُ مؤمن / غَافر
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
أَوَلَمۡ يَسِيرُواْ فِى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَيَنظُرُواْ كَيۡفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَانُواْ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡۚ كَانُواْ هُمۡ أَشَدَّ مِنۡہُمۡ قُوَّةً۬ وَءَاثَارً۬ا فِى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِذُنُوبِہِمۡ وَمَا كَانَ لَهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ مِن وَاقٍ۬ (٢١)

[040:021] Have they not traveled in the land to see the nature of the consequence for those who disbelieved before them? They were mightier than these in power and (in the) traces (which they left behind them) in the earth. Yet Allah seized them for their sins, and they had no protector from Allah. (21)

کیا انہوں نے زمین میں سیر نہیں کی تاکہ دیکھ لیتے کہ جو لوگ ان سے پہلے تھے ان کا انجام کیسا ہوا۔ وہ ان سے زور اور زمین میں نشانات (بنانے) کے لحاظ سے کہیں بڑھ کر تھے تو خدا نے ان کو ان کے گناہوں کے سبب پکڑ لیا۔ اور ان کو خدا (کے عذاب) سے کوئی بھی بچانے والا نہ تھا (۲۱)

وَقَالَ فِرۡعَوۡنُ يَـٰهَـٰمَـٰنُ ٱبۡنِ لِى صَرۡحً۬ا لَّعَلِّىٓ أَبۡلُغُ ٱلۡأَسۡبَـٰبَ (٣٦) أَسۡبَـٰبَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ فَأَطَّلِعَ إِلَىٰٓ إِلَـٰهِ مُوسَىٰ وَإِنِّى لَأَظُنُّهُ ۥ ڪَـٰذِبً۬اۚ وَڪَذَٲلِكَ زُيِّنَ لِفِرۡعَوۡنَ سُوٓءُ عَمَلِهِۦ وَصُدَّ عَنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِۚ وَمَا ڪَيۡدُ فِرۡعَوۡنَ إِلَّا فِى تَبَابٍ۬ (٣٧)

[040:036-37] Pharaoh said: "O Haman! Build me a lofty palace, that I may attain the ways and means-
"The ways and means of (reaching) the heavens, and that I may mount up to the God of Moses: But as far as I am concerned, I think (Moses) is a liar!" Thus was made alluring, in Pharaoh's eyes, the evil of his deeds, and he was hindered from the Path; and the plot of Pharaoh led to nothing but perdition (for him).

اور فرعون نے کہا کہ ہامان میرے لئے ایک محل بناؤ تاکہ میں (اس پر چڑھ کر) رستوں پر پہنچ جاؤں (۳۶) (یعنی) آسمانوں کے رستوں پر، پھر موسیٰ کے خدا کو دیکھ لوں اور میں تو اسے جھوٹا سمجھتا ہوں۔ اور اسی طرح فرعون کو اس کے اعمال بد اچھے معلوم ہوتے تھے اور وہ رستے سے روک دیا گیا تھا۔ اور فرعون کی تدبیر تو بےکار تھی (۳۷)

أَفَلَمۡ يَسِيرُواْ فِى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَيَنظُرُواْ كَيۡفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡۚ كَانُوٓاْ أَڪۡثَرَ مِنۡہُمۡ وَأَشَدَّ قُوَّةً۬ وَءَاثَارً۬ا فِى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَمَآ أَغۡنَىٰ عَنۡہُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَكۡسِبُونَ (٨٢)

[040:082] Have they not traveled in the land to see the nature of the consequence for those before them? They were more numerous than these, and mightier in power and (in the) traces (which they left behind them) in the earth. But all that they used to earn availed them not.

کیا ان لوگوں نے زمین میں سیر نہیں کی تاکہ دیکھتے جو لوگ ان سے پہلے تھے ان کا انجام کیسا ہوا۔ (حالانکہ) وہ ان سے کہیں زیادہ طاقتور اور زمین میں نشانات (بنانے) کے اعتبار سے بہت بڑھ کر تھے۔ تو جو کچھ وہ کرتے تھے وہ ان کے کچھ کام نہ آیا (۸۲)

سُوۡرَةُ الشّوریٰ
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنزَلَ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَٱلۡمِيزَانَ‌ۗ وَمَا يُدۡرِيكَ لَعَلَّ ٱلسَّاعَةَ قَرِيبٌ۬ (١٧)

Ash-Shura 42:17
Allah it is Who hath revealed the Scripture with truth, and the Balance. How canst thou know? It may be that the Hour is nigh. (17)

خدا ہی تو ہے جس نے سچائی کے ساتھ کتاب نازل فرمائی اور (عدل وانصاف کی) ترازو۔ اور تم کو کیا معلوم شاید قیامت قریب ہی آ پہنچی ہو (۱۷)

The Collision of Near Earth Objects (NEO)

NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration - An independent agency of the United States government responsible for aviation and spaceflight), ESA (European Space Agency) and other Space Agencies from other nations are now watching the skies to make sure we are not taken by surprise if another large asteroid heads our way. The project is called the Near Earth Objects Program.

سُوۡرَةُ القَمَر
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

وَلَقَدۡ جَآءَهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡأَنۢبَآءِ مَا فِيهِ مُزۡدَجَرٌ (٤)

[54:4] And surely there hath come unto them news whereof the purport should deter,

اور ان کو ایسے حالات (سابقین) پہنچ چکے ہیں جن میں عبرت ہے (۴)

NEO has found that at least 2,500 asteroids exist in an orbit that could conceivably bring them into a collision course with Earth. Unfortunately, only 20% of them have been properly identified to date. Hopefully, we will find the other 80% before it is too late.

The Near Earth Objects Program has discovered several asteroids that have passed by Earth recently (fortunately without hitting us). One of them almost smacked into Earth in March 2004, missing us by only 3 Earth diameters (about 25,000 miles).

In 2029 (hopefully, we’ll all still be alive and well) another asteroid is going to pass even closer to Earth. In fact, its close encounter may swing it on a new trajectory around the sun that will give it a small chance of hitting Earth when we again meet up with it in 2036. It is about 280 meters or 1/6 mile wide, and is moving very fast. Its name is Apophis (also known as 2004 MN4).

Using binoculars on Earth, you should be able to see it pass by for real in 2029. If we are very unlucky, it will hit Earth in 2036, and everyone will know what that will be like!!! If it did, it most likely would smack into the ocean, creating a huge tidal wave (tsunami). Sweeping out from the impact site, it could drown thousands of miles of coastline.

سُوۡرَةُ الاٴنبیَاء
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

بَلۡ تَأۡتِيهِم بَغۡتَةً۬ فَتَبۡهَتُہُمۡ فَلَا يَسۡتَطِيعُونَ رَدَّهَا وَلَا هُمۡ يُنظَرُونَ (٤٠)

Al-Anbiya 21:40
Nay, but it will come upon them unawares so that it will stupefy them, and they will be unable to repel it, neither will they be reprieved. (40)

بلکہ قیامت ان پر ناگہاں آ واقع ہوگی۔ اور ان کے ہوش کھو دے گی۔ پھر نہ تو وہ اس کو ہٹا سکیں گے اور نہ ان کو مہلت دی جائے گی (۴۰)

Humans are not helpless when it comes to asteroids. It is possible that if one on a collision course with Earth was found soon enough, we could launch spacecraft that could nudge its course enough to cause it to miss an impact with Earth. However, we have no such technical capability yet.

Near-Earth Object Deflection Strategies

Strategies fall into two basic sets: destruction and delay.

Destruction concentrates on rendering the impactor harmless by fragmenting it and scattering the fragments so that they miss the Earth or burn up in the atmosphere. As will be shown, this does not always solve the problem, as sufficient amounts of material hitting the Earth at high speed can be devastating even if they are not collected together in a single body.

Delay exploits the fact that both the Earth and the impactor are in orbit. An impact occurs when both reach the same point in space at the same time, or more correctly when some point on Earth's surface intersects the impactor's orbit when the impactor arrives. Since the Earth is approximately 12,750 km in diameter and moves at approx. 30 km per second in its orbit, it travels a distance of one planetary diameter in about 425 seconds, or slightly over seven minutes. Delaying, or advancing the impactor's arrival by times of this magnitude can, depending on the exact geometry of the impact, cause it to miss the Earth. By the same token, the arrival time of the impactor must be known to this accuracy in order to forecast the impact at all, and to determine how to affect its velocity.

Nuclear weapons

One of the often proposed solutions is firing nuclear missiles at the oncoming asteroid to vaporize all or most of it. If not completely vaporized, the resulting reduction of mass from the blast combined with the radiation blast and rocket exhaust effect from ejecta could produce positive results. The largest problem with this solution is that if the asteroid breaks into fragments, any fragment larger than 35 m across would not burn up in the atmosphere and itself could impact Earth. Tracking of the thousands of fragments that could result would prove daunting.

Another proposed solution is to detonate a series of smaller nuclear devices alongside the asteroid, far enough away as not to fracture the object. Providing this was done far enough in advance, the relatively small forces from any number of nuclear blasts could be enough to alter the object's trajectory enough to avoid an impact. This is a form of nuclear pulse propulsion. In 1967, students at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology designed a system using nuclear explosions to prevent a hypothetical impact on Earth by the asteroid 1566 Icarus. This design study was later published as Project Icarus (MIT Press, 1968), which served as the inspiration for the 1979 film Meteor.

Kinetic Impact

An alternative means of deflecting an asteroid is to attempt to directly alter its momentum by sending a spacecraft to collide with the asteroid.

The European Space Agency is already studying preliminary design of a space mission able to demonstrate this futuristic technology. The mission, named Don Quijote, is the first real asteroid deflection mission ever designed.

In the case of 99942 Apophis it has been demonstrated by ESA's Advanced Concepts Team that deflection could be achieved by sending a simple spacecraft weighing less than one ton to impact against the asteroid. During a trade-off study one of the leading researchers argued that a strategy called 'kinetic impactor deflection' was more efficient than others.

Asteroid gravitational tractor

The major alternative to explosive deflection is to move the asteroid slowly over a period of time. Tiny constant thrust accumulates to deviate an object sufficiently from its predicted course. Edward T. Lu and Stanley G. Love have proposed using a large heavy unmanned spacecraft hovering over an asteroid to gravitationally pull the latter into a non-threatening orbit. The spacecraft and the asteroid mutually attract one another. If the spacecraft counters the force towards the asteroid by, e.g., an ion thruster, the net effect is that the asteroid is accelerated towards the spacecraft and thus slightly deflected from its orbit. While slow, this method has the advantage of working irrespective of the asteroid composition or spin rate rubble pile asteroids would be difficult or impossible to deflect by means of nuclear detonations while a pushing device would be hard or inefficient to mount on a fast rotating asteroid. A gravity tractor would likely have to spend several years beside the asteroid to be effective.

Use of focused solar energy

H. Jay Melosh proposed to deflect an asteroid or comet by focusing solar energy onto its surface to create thrust from the resulting vaporization of material, or to amplify the Yarkovsky effect. Over a span of months or years enough solar radiation can be directed onto the object to deflect it.

Mass driver

A mass driver is an (automated) system on the asteroid to eject material into space thus giving the object a slow steady push and decreasing its mass. A mass driver is designed to work as a very low Specific Impulse system, which in general uses a lot of propellant, but very little power.

The idea is that when using local material as propellant, the amount of propellant is not as important as the amount of power, which is likely to be limited.

A mass driver can impart a lot more momentum to an asteroid than a rocket carried there.

Conventional Rocket Motor

Attaching any spacecraft propulsion device would have a similar effect of giving a steady push, possibly forcing the asteroid onto a trajectory that takes it away from Earth. An in-space rocket engine that is capable of imparting an impulse of 1E6 m-sec (E.g. adding 1 km/sec to a 1 ton vehicle), will have a relatively small effect on a relatively small asteroid that weighs roughly a million times more.

Other proposals

Wrapping the asteroid in a sheet of reflective plastic such as aluminized PET film, or dusting the object with titanium dioxide to alter its trajectory via radiation pressure.

Dusting the object with soot to alter its trajectory via the Yarkovsky effect.

Attaching a large enough solar sail directly to the object, thus using solar pressure to shift the object's orbit
Chapman, Durda & Gold's white paper calculates deflections using existing chemical rockets, delivered to the asteroid, then push it sideways, assuming sufficient fuel also delivered.

The late Eugene Shoemaker in 1996 proposed deflecting a potential impactor by releasing a cloud of steam in the path of the object, hopefully gently slowing it. Nick Szabo in 1990 sketched a similar idea, "cometary aerobraking", the targeting of a comet or ice construct at an asteroid, then vaporizing the ice with nuclear explosives to form a temporary atmosphere in the path of the asteroid.

Deflection technology concerns

Carl Sagan, in his book Pale Blue Dot, expressed concerns about deflection technology: that any method capable of deflecting impactors away from Earth could also be abused to divert non-threatening bodies toward the planet. Considering the history of genocidal political leaders and the possibility of the bureaucratic obscuring of any such project's true goals to most of its scientific participants, he judged the Earth at greater risk from a man-made impact than a natural one. Sagan instead suggested that deflection technology should only be developed in an actual emergency situation.

Analysis of the uncertainty involved in nuclear deflection shows that the ability to protect the planet does not imply the ability to target the planet. A nuclear bomb which changed an asteroid's velocity by 10 meters/second (plus or minus 20%) would be adequate to push it out of an earth-impacting orbit. However, if the uncertainty of the velocity change was more than a few percent, there would be no chance of directing the asteroid to a particular target.

Verily they have plotted their plot, and their plot is with Allah, though their plot were such whereby the mountains should be moved. Lo! Allah is swift at reckoning. (51) This is a clear message for mankind in order that they may be warned thereby, and that they may know that He is only One God, and that men of understanding may take heed. (52)

اور انہوں نے (بڑی بڑی) تدبیریں کیں اور ان کی (سب) تدبیریں خدا کے ہاں (لکھی ہوئی) ہیں گو وہ تدبیریں ایسی (غضب کی) تھیں کہ ان سے پہاڑ بھی ٹل جائیں (۴۶) تو ایسا خیال نہ کرنا کہ خدا نے جو اپنے پیغمبروں سے وعدہ کیا ہے اس کے خلاف کرے گا بےشک خدا زبردست (اور) بدلہ لینے والا ہے (۴۷) جس دن یہ زمین دوسری زمین سے بدل دی جائے گی اور آسمان بھی (بدل دیئے جائیں گے) اور سب لوگ خدائے یگانہ وزبردست کے سامنے نکل کھڑے ہوں گے (۴۸) اور اس دن تم گنہگاروں کو دیکھو گے کہ زنجیروں میں جکڑے ہوئے ہیں (۴۹) ان کے کرتے گندھک کے ہوں گے اور ان کے مونہوں کو آگ لپیٹ رہی ہوگی (۵۰) یہ اس لیے کہ خدا ہر شخص کو اس کے اعمال کا بدلہ دے۔ بےشک خدا جلد حساب لینے والا ہے (۵۱) یہ قرآن لوگوں کے نام (خدا کا پیغام) ہے تاکہ ان کو اس سے ڈرایا جائے اور تاکہ وہ جان لیں کہ وہی اکیلا معبود ہے اور تاکہ اہل عقل نصیحت پکڑیں (۵۲)

سُوۡرَةُ القَمَر

(39) Say: Can ye see yourselves, if the punishment of Allah come upon you or the Hour come upon you, (calling upon other than Allah)? Do ye then call (for help) to any other than Allah? Life Cycle of the SUN

In fact, the Sun and all stars that we can see are exploding internally, with billions of H-bomb type explosions going off every second in its central core. This results in enormous radiation energy and heat pouring out of the Sun at the speed of light, spreading through space in all directions.

There are some dark orange/brown spots on the Sun. They are sunspots, giant storms of magnetic disturbance where flares and prominences (eruptions) tend to occur often. They are something like whirlpools on Earth. They are darker in color than the rest of the Sun because they are actually a bit cooler in temperature than their surroundings.

The number of these storms depends upon the Sun’s magnetic field. They come and go in cycles every 11 years. When sunspots are at their maximum number, there may be over a hundred individual storms raging on the Sun at one time. Incredibly, even the small spots are larger than Earth. The big ones could envelop 10 Earths.

Some of the radiation is deadly and can kill us instantly. Fortunately, Earth’s atmosphere protects us from most of it. Some radiation is good. The Sun’s heat is a form of radiation that strikes all of the planets and moons of the Solar System and warms them by different amounts. Life on Earth is possible because of it.

Even though it is exploding, the Sun does not blast out into space like a firecracker going off inside a ball of Jell-O. The reason is gravity. Although it is blowing outward, gravity is grabbing those exploding gases and is pulling most of them back in as soon as they try to leave… keeping the Sun at a controlled, sustained size. This tug-of-war goes on year after year, century after century. It has been going on for 5 billion years, and will continue for over 5 billion more years.

Betelgeuse goes Hyper-nova

Betelgeuse (The second brightest star in Orion) is really big star, one called a Red Super-giant.

It is an old star that someday will explode violently. In fact, the effects of that explosion may actually reach Earth anytime.

Its name is Betelgeuse. Betelgeuse is not small. It’s just very far away. In fact, this star is a COLOSSAL SUPERGIANT, one of the biggest stars in the sky. Its radius is over 550 times wider than our Sun and its volume is so great that 18,000,000 (18 MILLION) of our Suns could fit inside it. Indeed it is very very HUGE!!!

Astronomers estimate that within the next few thousand years (maybe tomorrow), Betelgeuse will die in the biggest explosion ever witnessed by life on Earth. It will “go Hypernova” and blow itself to bits. Find more at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypernova

The terrible radiation from that explosion, traveling at the speed of light, will take about 640-650 years to reach Earth but when it does, it could slam into our planet with enough energy to give our atmosphere a nasty dose of high-energy radiation.

What is weird to realize is that Betelgeuse could already have blown up hundreds of years ago, with the light, heat and radiation from that explosion still in route to Earth. It could arrive tomorrow. If it does, you would see the star flare into a brilliant ball bright enough to equal the full moon.

By the way, if our sun went supernova, just the blast wave would destroy Earth. The nearest star to our sun, Alpha Centauri, is not likely to become a supernova. But if a star at that distance did go supernova, there would be very heavy damage here on Earth.

It is said that its rotational axis is not toward the Earth and also because of its 640 light year distance, Betelgeuse's supernova will not cause a gamma ray burst in the direction of Earth large enough to damage its ecosystem. what if scientific calculation goes wrong??? or another un seen star has already been blown up long ago and its impact may reach earth in near future???

Light migrates in 499.3 sec = 8 minutes 19.3 sec from Sun to Earth and to reach your camera shutter; it means that your camera has just captured a moment at sun which has been passed about 8 minutes 20 seconds in past.

Astronomical distances are sometimes measured in light years (the distance that light would travel in one Earth year, roughly 9.46×1012 kilometers or about 5.88×1012 miles). Because light travels at a large but finite speed, it takes time for light to cover large distances. Thus, the light we observe from distant objects in the universe was emitted from them long ago: in effect, we see their distant past. Even in terms of our own sun, light from the sun takes around eight and one-third minutes to reach the earth.

Now, if your telescope has very powerful lenses, which can observe Betelgeuse that is 640-650 Light Years away, you would be observing it 640-650 years in past.

You may keep observing that Betelgeuse is all right, and all of a sudden you will get its image of destruction and actual explosion shockwave impact followed by, which may destroy all our solar system.

[007:187] They ask thee about the (final) Hour - when will be its appointed time? Say: "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord (alone): None but He can reveal as to when it will occur. Heavy were its burden through the heavens and the earth. Only, all of a sudden will it come to you." They ask thee as if thou Wert eager in search thereof: Say: "The knowledge thereof is with God (alone), but most men know not."

(یہ لوگ) تم سے قیامت کے بارے میں پوچھتے ہیں کہ اس کے واقع ہونے کا وقت کب ہے۔ کہہ دو کہ اس کا علم تو میرے پروردگار ہی کو ہے۔ وہی اسے اس کے وقت پر ظاہر کردےگا۔ وہ آسمان وزمین میں ایک بھاری بات ہوگی اور ناگہاں تم پر آجائے گی۔ یہ تم سے اس طرح دریافت کرتے ہیں کہ گویا تم اس سے بخوبی واقف ہو۔ کہو کہ اس کا علم تو خدا ہی کو ہے لیکن اکثر لوگ یہ نہیں جانتے (۱۸۷)

So, no one can guess or calculate that when this moment will come, and this would be the end of time event for mankind.

Sad 38:1-3,15
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Sad. By the renowned Qur'an, (1) Nay, but those who disbelieve are in false pride and schism. (2) How many a generation We destroyed before them, and they cried out when it was no longer the time for escape! (3)

These wait for but one Shout, there will be no second thereto. (15)

سورة صٓ
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
ص۔ قسم ہے اس قرآن کی جو نصیحت دینے والا ہے (کہ تم حق پر ہو) (۱) مگر جو لوگ کافر ہیں وہ غرور اور مخالفت میں ہیں (۲) ہم نے ان سے پہلے بہت سی اُمتوں کو ہلاک کردیا تو وہ (عذاب کے وقت) لگے فریاد کرنے اور وہ رہائی کا وقت نہیں تھا

اور یہ لوگ تو صرف ایک زور کی آواز کا جس میں (شروع ہوئے پیچھے) کچھ وقفہ نہیں ہوگا، انتظار کرتے ہیں (۱۵)

Ad-Dukhan 44:10-11
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

But watch thou for the day when the sky will produce visible smoke (10) That will envelop the people. This will be a painful torment. (11)

سورة الدّخان
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

تو اس دن کا انتظار کرو کہ آسمان سے صریح دھواں نکلے گا (۱۰) جو لوگوں پر چھا جائے گا۔ یہ درد دینے والا عذاب ہے (۱۱)

An-Najm
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

By the Star when it setteth, (1)

And unto Allah belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth, (31)

And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, (50) And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; (51) And the folk of Noah aforetime, Lo! they were more unjust and more rebellious; (52) And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed (53) So that there covered them that which did cover. (54) Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? (55) This is a warner of the warners of old. (56) The threatened Hour is nigh. (57) None beside Allah can disclose it. (58) Marvel ye then at this statement, (59) And laugh and not weep, (60) While ye amuse yourselves? (61) Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. (62)

سورة النّجْم
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

تارے کی قسم جب غائب ہونے لگے (۱)

اور جو کچھ آسمانوں میں ہے اور جو کچھ زمین میں ہے سب خدا ہی کا ہے

اور یہ کہ اسی نے عاد اول کو ہلاک کر ڈالا (۵۰) اور ثمود کو بھی۔ غرض کسی کو باقی نہ چھوڑا (۵۱) اور ان سے پہلے قوم نوح کو بھی۔ کچھ شک نہیں کہ وہ لوگ بڑے ہی ظالم اور بڑے ہی سرکش تھے (۵۲) اور اسی نے الٹی ہوئی بستیوں کو دے پٹکا (۵۳) پھر ان پر چھایا جو چھایا (۵۴) تو (اے انسان) تو اپنے پروردگار کی کون سی نعمت پر جھگڑے گا (۵۵) یہ (محمد) بھی اگلے ڈر سنانے والوں میں سے ایک ڈر سنانے والے ہیں (۵۶) آنے والی (یعنی قیامت) قریب آ پہنچی (۵۷) اس (دن کی تکلیفوں) کو خدا کے سوا کوئی دور نہیں کرسکے گا (۵۸) اے منکرین خدا) کیا تم اس کلام سے تعجب کرتے ہو؟ (۵۹) اور ہنستے ہو اور روتے نہیں؟ (۶۰) اور تم غفلت میں پڑ رہے ہو (۶۱) تو خدا کے آگے سجدہ کرو اور (اسی کی) عبادت کرو (۶۲)

At-Tariq
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

By the heaven and the Morning Star (1) - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! (2) - The piercing Star! (3) No human soul but hath a guardian over it. (4) So let man consider from what he is created. (5) He is created from a gushing fluid (6) That issued from between the loins and ribs. (7) Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) (8) On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. (9) Then will he have no might nor any helper. (10) By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, (11) And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) (12) Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, (13) It is no pleasantry. (14) Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) (15) And I plot a plot (against them). (16) So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. (17)

سورة الطّارق
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

آسمان اور رات کے وقت آنے والے کی قسم (۱) اور تم کو کیا معلوم کہ رات کے وقت آنے والا کیا ہے (۲) وہ تارا ہے چمکنے والا (۳) کہ کوئی متنفس نہیں جس پر نگہبان مقرر نہیں (۴) تو انسان کو دیکھنا چاہئے کہ وہ کاہے سے پیدا ہوا ہے (۵) وہ اچھلتے ہوئے پانی سے پیدا ہوا ہے (۶) جو پیٹھ اور سینے کے بیچ میں سے نکلتا ہے (۷) بےشک خدا اس کے اعادے (یعنی پھر پیدا کرنے) پر قادر ہے (۸) جس دن دلوں کے بھید جانچے جائیں گے (۹) تو انسان کی کچھ پیش نہ چل سکے گی اور نہ کوئی اس کا مددگار ہو گا (۱۰) آسمان کی قسم جو مینہ برساتا ہے (۱۱) اور زمین کی قسم جو پھٹ جاتی ہے (۱۲) کہ یہ کلام (حق کو باطل سے) جدا کرنے والا ہے (۱۳) اور بیہودہ بات نہیں ہے (۱۴) یہ لوگ تو اپنی تدبیروں میں لگ رہے ہیں (۱۵) اور ہم اپنی تدبیر کر رہے ہیں (۱۶) تو تم کافروں کو مہلت دو بس چند روز ہی مہلت دو (۱۷)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

A questioner questioned concerning the doom about to fall (1) Upon the disbelievers, which none can repel, (2) From Allah, Lord of the Ascending Stairways (3) (Whereby) the angels and the Spirit ascend unto Him in a Day whereof the span is fifty thousand years. (4) But be patient (O Muhammad) with a patience fair to see. (5) Lo! they behold it afar off (6) While we behold it nigh: (7) The day when the sky will become as molten copper, (8) And the hills become as flakes of wool, (9) And no familiar friend will ask a question of his friend (10) Though they will be given sight of them. The guilty man will long to be able to ransom himself from the punishment of that day at the price of his children (11) And his spouse and his brother (12) And his kin that harboured him (13) And all that are in the earth, if then it might deliver him. (14) But nay! for lo! it is the fire of hell (15) Eager to roast; (16) It calleth him who turned and fled (from truth), (17) And hoarded (wealth) and withheld it. (18) Lo! man was created anxious, (19) Fretful when evil befalleth him (20) And, when good befalleth him, grudging; (21) Save worshippers. (22) Who are constant at their worship (23) And in whose wealth there is a right acknowledged (24) For the beggar and the destitute; (25) And those who believe in the Day of Judgment, (26) And those who are fearful of their Lord's doom - (27) Lo! the doom of their Lord is that before which none can feel secure - (28) And those who preserve their chastity (29) Save with their wives and those whom their right hands possess, for thus they are not blameworthy; (30) But whoso seeketh more than that, those are they who are transgressors; (31) And those who keep their pledges and their covenant, (32) And those who stand by their testimony (33) And those who are attentive at their worship. (34) These will dwell in Gardens, honoured. (35) What aileth those who disbelieve, that they keep staring toward thee (O Muhammad), open-eyed, (36) On the right and on the left, in groups? (37) Doth every man among them hope to enter the Garden of Delight? (38) Nay, verily. Lo! We created them from what they know. (39) But nay! I swear by the Lord of the rising-places and the setting-places of the planets that We are Able (40) To replace them by (others) better than them. And we are not to be outrun. (41) So let them chat and play until they meet their Day which they are promised, (42) The day when they come forth from the graves in haste, as racing to a goal, (43) With eyes aghast, abasement stupefying them: Such is the Day which they are promised. (44)

سورة المعَارج
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

ایک طلب کرنے والے نے عذاب طلب کیا جو نازل ہو کر رہے گا (۱) (یعنی) کافروں پر (اور) کوئی اس کو ٹال نہ سکے گا (۲) (اور وہ) خدائے صاحب درجات کی طرف سے (نازل ہوگا) (۳) جس کی طرف روح (الامین) اور فرشتے چڑھتے ہیں (اور) اس روز (نازل ہوگا) جس کا اندازہ پچاس ہزار برس کا ہوگا (۴) (تو تم کافروں کی باتوں کو) قوت کے ساتھ برداشت کرتے رہو (۵) وہ ان لوگوں کی نگاہ میں دور ہے (۶) اور ہماری نظر میں نزدیک (۷) جس دن آسمان ایسا ہو جائے گا جیسے پگھلا ہوا تانبا (۸) اور پہاڑ (ایسے) جیسے (دھنکی ہوئی) رنگین اون (۹) اور کوئی دوست کسی دوست کا پرسان نہ ہوگا (۱۰) (حالانکہ) ایک دوسرے کو سامنے دیکھ رہے ہوں گے (اس روز) گنہگار خواہش کرے گا کہ کسی طرح اس دن کے عذاب کے بدلے میں (سب کچھ) دے دے یعنی اپنے بیٹے (۱۱) اور اپنی بیوی اور اپنے بھائی (۱۲) اور اپنا خاندان جس میں وہ رہتا تھا (۱۳) اور جتنے آدمی زمین میں ہیں (غرض) سب (کچھ دے دے) اور اپنے تئیں عذاب سے چھڑا لے (۱۴) (لیکن) ایسا ہرگز نہیں ہوگا وہ بھڑکتی ہوئی آگ ہے (۱۵) کھال ادھیڑ ڈالنے والی (۱۶) ان لوگوں کو اپنی طرف بلائے گی جنہوں نے (دین حق سے) اعراض کیا (۱۷) اور (مال )جمع کیا اور بند کر رکھا (۱۸) کچھ شک نہیں کہ انسان کم حوصلہ پیدا ہوا ہے (۱۹) جب اسے تکلیف پہنچتی ہے تو گھبرا اٹھتا ہے (۲۰) اور جب آسائش حاصل ہوتی ہے تو بخیل بن جاتا ہے (۲۱) مگر نماز گزار (۲۲) جو نماز کا التزام رکھتے (اور بلاناغہ پڑھتے) ہیں (۲۳) اور جن کے مال میں حصہ مقرر ہے (۲۴) (یعنی) مانگنے والے کا۔ اور نہ مانگے والے والا کا (۲۵) اور جو روز جزا کو سچ سمجھتے ہیں (۲۶) اور جو اپنے پروردگار کے عذاب سے خوف رکھتے ہیں (۲۷) بےشک ان کے پروردگار کا عذاب ہے ہی ایسا کہ اس سے بےخوف نہ ہوا جائے (۲۸) اور جو اپنی شرمگاہوں کی حفاظت کرتے ہیں (۲۹) مگر اپنی بیویوں یا لونڈیوں سے کہ (ان کے پاس جانے پر) انہیں کچھ ملامت نہیں (۳۰) اور جو لوگ ان کے سوا اور کے خواستگار ہوں وہ حد سے نکل جانے والے ہیں (۳۱) اور جو اپنی امانتوں اور اقراروں کا پاس کرتے ہیں (۳۲) اور جو اپنی شہادتوں پر قائم رہتے ہیں (۳۳) اور جو اپنی نماز کی خبر رکھتے ہیں (۳۴) یہی لوگ باغہائے بہشت میں عزت واکرام سے ہوں گے (۳۵) تو ان کافروں کو کیا ہوا ہے کہ تمہاری طرف دوڑے چلے آتے ہیں (۳۶) اور) دائیں بائیں سے گروہ گروہ ہو کر (جمع ہوتے جاتے ہیں) (۳۷) کیا ان میں سے ہر شخص یہ توقع رکھتا ہے کہ نعمت کے باغ میں داخل کیا جائے گا (۳۸) ہرگز نہیں۔ ہم نے ان کو اس چیز سے پیدا کیا ہے جسے وہ جانتے ہیں (۳۹) ہمیں مشرقوں اور مغربوں کے مالک کی قسم کہ ہم طاقت رکھتے ہیں (۴۰) (یعنی) اس بات پر (قادر ہیں) کہ ان سے بہتر لوگ بدل لائیں اور ہم عاجز نہیں ہیں (۴۱) تو (اے پیغمبر) ان کو باطل میں پڑے رہنے اور کھیل لینے دو یہاں تک کہ جس دن کا ان سے وعدہ کیا جاتا ہے وہ ان کے سامنے آ موجود ہو (۴۲) اس دن یہ قبر سے نکل کر (اس طرح) دوڑیں گے جیسے (شکاری) شکار کے جال کی طرف دوڑتے ہیں (۴۳) ان کی آنکھیں جھک رہی ہوں گی اور ذلت ان پر چھا رہی ہوگی۔ یہی وہ دن ہے جس کا ان سے وعدہ کیا جاتا تھا (۴۴)

85: 1-3 Al-Burooj
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

By the heaven, holding mansions of the stars, (1) And by the Promised Day. (2) And by the witness and that whereunto he beareth testimony, (3)

سورة البُرُوج
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

آسمان کی قسم جس میں برج ہیں (۱) اور اس دن کی جس کا وعدہ ہے (۲) اور حاضر ہونے والے کی اور جو اس کے پاس حاضر کیا جائے اسکی (۳)

2:255 Al-Baqara
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Allah! There is no God save Him, the Alive, the Eternal. Neither slumber nor sleep overtaketh Him. Unto Him belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. Who is he that intercedeth with Him save by His leave? He knoweth that which is in front of them and that which is behind them, while they encompass nothing of His knowledge save what He will. His throne includeth the heavens and the earth, and He is never weary of preserving them. He is the Sublime, the Tremendous. (255)

سورة البَقَرَة
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

خدا (وہ معبود برحق ہے کہ) اس کے سوا کوئی عبادت کے لائق نہیں زندہ ہمیشہ رہنے والا اسے نہ اونگھ آتی ہے نہ نیند جو کچھ آسمانوں میں اور جو کچھ زمین میں ہیں سب اسی کا ہے کون ہے جو اس کی اجازت کے بغیر اس سے (کسی کی) سفارش کر سکے جو کچھ لوگوں کے روبرو ہو رہا ہے اور جو کچھ ان کے پیچھے ہوچکا ہے اسے سب معلوم ہے اور وہ اس کی معلومات میں سے کسی چیز پر دسترس حاصل نہیں کر سکتے ہاں جس قدر وہ چاہتا ہے (اسی قدر معلوم کرا دیتا ہے) اس کی بادشاہی (اور علم) آسمان اور زمین سب پر حاوی ہے اور اسے ان کی حفاظت کچھ بھی دشوار نہیں وہ بڑا عالی رتبہ اور جلیل القدر ہے (۲۵۵)

Al-Mulk 67:16-17, 25-28
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

سورة المُلک
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

اور کافر کہتے ہیں کہ اگر تم سچے ہو تو یہ وعید کب (پورا) ہوگا؟ (۲۵) کہہ دو اس کا علم خدا ہی کو ہے۔ اور میں تو کھول کھول کر ڈر سنانے دینے والا ہوں (۲۶) سو جب وہ دیکھ لیں گے کہ وہ (وعدہ) قریب آگیا تو کافروں کے منہ برے ہوجائیں گے اور (ان سے) کہا جائے گا کہ یہ وہی ہے جس کے تم خواستگار تھے (۲۷)

Az-Zukhruf 43:66

Await they aught save the Hour, that it shall come upon them suddenly, when they know not? (66)

سُوۡرَةُ الزّخرُف
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

یہ صرف اس بات کے منتظر ہیں کہ قیامت ان پر ناگہاں آموجود ہو اور ان کو خبر تک نہ ہو (۶۶)
